The White Duke of York is a traditional heritage variety first bred in Aberdeenshire, Scotland in 1891. With a light yellow skin and a creamy flesh this variety is normally grown as a first early, however we tend to treat it as a maincrop potato leading to a more floury texture. This makes for delicious roasties, jackets, wedges and chips. You can also try boiling these as they become quite creamy but be careful not to overdo them as they will break up easily.
