White Flesh · Heritage
Golden Wonder
This heritage variety was bred in Arbroath on the East coast of Scotland in 1906 and is favoured both here and in Ireland where it is very popular. With a thick, light brown skin and pale, very floury flesh they lend themselves well to chipping and baking and are better steamed than boiled due to their high percentage of dry matter which causes them to break up very easily. Their forte really lies in roasting though, due to the floury nature of the flesh they make deliciously fluffy roast potatoes that soak up whatever they are cooked in and provide the perfect accompaniment to any Sunday roast.

About this variety
Bred in Arbroath on the East coast of Scotland in 1906, grown in Kent.
Storing your potatoes
When you receive your potatoes we advise you keep them in cool, dark, dry, frost-free conditions during the winter months. Stored correctly they should keep well for up to a month.
In spring and summer you may prefer to refrigerate them. They'll try to grow once the warmer weather arrives, as we don't spray our potatoes with any sprout-inhibiting chemicals. Kept in the fridge they should last a couple of weeks.
A note on seed potatoes
All our varieties are grown from certified seed stock. If you'd like to grow your own, some of our varieties are available as seed potatoes in early spring - get in touch to find out what's available.
