Field sports · Morghew Estate
The shoot at Morghew.
Driven and walked-up days across six hundred acres of Kentish countryside, run the traditional way: small bags, challenging shots, beautiful scenery, and game that goes straight to the table.
A traditional Kentish shoot
We run a small, sporting shoot on the estate: well-presented birds over mature woodland in beautiful scenery. Everything not taken home by guns is dressed and sold on through the farm shop, nothing goes to waste.

Driven days, done properly
Our driven days make the most of Morghew's contours: birds shown high off the wooded banks and valleys, with five or six drives across the day.
Days are kept deliberately small and sporting. We would rather show quality birds to a happy line of guns than chase big numbers.
- Five to six drives across the day
- Teams of ten guns - 80 bird days
- Experienced gamekeeper and beating team
- Tea & coffee on arrival, sloe gin & canapes at 11.00am, claret at lunchtime and tea, coffee and cake to finish the day
- Transport for guns is provided in our 1968 Unimog gun bus
Rough shootingWalked-up & rough shooting
For the smaller shooting party
For those who prefer a quieter day on foot, we offer walked-up and rough shooting over the estate's rougher ground, hedgerows and root crops.
A relaxed, informal way to shoot: a few guns, dogs working, and a real sense of the land. Ideal for a small party or a father and son.

The shoot at a glance
"A good day in the field ends at the table. Nothing we take is wasted, and most of it is on a plate within the week."
