Mail Order Terms and Conditions

Please note that delivery will take two to three working days* after your order has been placed.

Your potatoes will be packed unwashed to preserve their shelf life unless you specifically ask us to wash them for you. Please see below for storage information.

They will be shipped to you using an external courier service (we mainly use DPD for our deliveries); if you have any delivery preferences please let us know in the Order Notes at the checkout so we can advise the courier company, e.g. leave with neighbours, in porch etc. We only share your email address and mobile number with the courier service - this is so that you can receive updates about your delivery from them direct and update your delivery preferences if required.

Please make sure you input your correct delivery address, particularly your post code. We reserve the right to increase the delivery charge if your details have been loaded incorrectly and your address falls in a restricted area. We will contact you if there is a problem of this nature.

Postage costs are £7.50 for produce weighing 1kg to 20kg within mainland UK*. If you're looking to order anything above this weight please contact us for a quote.

For local firewood orders the shipping is calculated per mile from Morghew. This is really only intended for local deliveries as long distances get very expensive. Please check the shipping cost before completing your order.

If you have any problems with your order please contact us within 3 days of receipt of your parcel – the phone is not generally manned at weekends but emails are regularly monitored. Please direct enquiries to potatoshop@morghew.com.

Wild Game Postage

All of our produce is delivered frozen using a next day delivery service (orders placed on Friday, Saturday or Sunday will be dispatched the next working day - on Monday for delivery on Tuesday). We use insulated packaging which will protect your order and keep it at a constant temperature for 48 hours from dispatch.

If you are ordering any of our frozen game products please ensure that you are either around to accept delivery (DPD will send you a notification with an approximate time to expect them) or leave clear instructions in the Order Notes at the checkout of a safe, sheltered place for them to leave your package. We cannot accept any claims made for deliveries within the 48 hours after dispatch, or any deliveries that you have rescheduled, refused or returned.

*Wild Garlic Postage

Postage within mainland UK costs £5 for up to 1kg of Wild Garlic - we try to use first class post so they reach you as quickly as possible. Please note that we pick on a Tuesday for dispatch on Wednesday. If you have ordered other products with your wild garlic these will all be dispatched together. By doing this we can ensure that the leaves arrive to you as fresh as possible!

Storage and Other Tips

When you receive your potatoes we advise you keep them in cool, dark, dry, frost-free conditions during the winter months. They should keep well for up to a month if stored correctly.

In spring and summer you may prefer to refrigerate them. They will try to grow once the warmer weather starts to arrive as we do not spray our potatoes with any sprout inhibiting chemicals. Kept in stable conditions they will keep well for a week, we advise that you only order as many as you need during these periods.

Our potatoes are not certified seed potatoes (unless explicitly stated). They’re not sprayed with chemicals so will grow if given the chance but we’ve grown them for eating. We recommend planting them in your oven, not in the garden!
