Wheat from Morghew

Direct to You from an Estate outside Tenterden.

Agriculture’s attempt to reconnect with its customers rolls on and on – and nowhere more so than at Morghew Park near Tenterden, where several thousand tonnes of feed and milling wheat are grown every year.

The Estate has an honesty stall which is well known locally for its exotic and conventional potatoes and this recently started selling firewood logs as well – on a pick-your-own basis!

Well, after some persistent lobbying by customers, the honesty stall now also offers small-scale poultry keepers a source of locally-grown feed wheat at prices that are distinctly ‘off-the-farm’. And if this proves popular, we’ll grow some oats and barley for the honesty stall as well.

Our wheat is sold in sturdy 20kg paper sacks – sewn up at the top, so they won’t leak in your car – at £6 for 20kg.

It’s very easy to use our honesty stall, which is available from 8am – 8pm, seven days a week. Just reverse up to it, and load a bag or two into the boot of your car. Then place the correct money or a cheque payable to Morghew Park Estate (please write your name & address on the reverse) into one of our reusable plastic envelopes marked ‘Wheat’ and post it though the letterbox. If we are in the offices you can also pay by chip & pin.

If you have any questions about our wheat sales, please feel free to email us on wheat@morghew.com or call us on (01580) 763 158.

It’s easy to find us. Just go to the western end of Tenterden High Street – also known as the A28 – at the Rolvenden end of the town. At the traffic lights next to the William Caxton public house, take the B2082 signposted to Rye. After a 1/3 of a mile, you’ll pass a supermarket on your left, and 200 yards further on the right, take the private road marked ‘Morghew’. Follow this for ¼ of a mile, and after you’ve passed over a second cattle grid, you’ll find our honesty stall on your right.
