Spring is Springing 2020 The Potato Shop

Spring Update

In COVID-19 Updates by Sam

Good Evening,

I hope you are all well and taking care of yourselves, we’re going through tough times at the moment and it’s important that we all look out for each other where, and in whatever way, we can.

With regards to our mail order potatoes, do please bear with us whilst we struggle to cope with the increased demand. We are doing everything in our power to get them packed as quickly and efficiently as possible but please remember that we are also reliant on our couriers who are also experiencing high volumes of parcels at the moment. There will be a longer delivery time on all orders at the moment.

We have implemented a weight restriction on orders, if you would like more than 25kg of potatoes you will need to contact us directly either by phone on 01580 766 866 or email potatoshop@morghew.com. This is so that we can work out your postage on an individual basis. Please don’t order more than you need or can eat as you may find they begin to sprout before you get round to them and therefore end up as food waste. We don’t want that to happen to potatoes that we have worked hard to plant, grow and pack!

I would like to reassure you that whilst our stocks have been taking a bit of a hit recently we won’t run out of potatoes. We just may not have the range of varieties you are used to seeing from us until we harvest again next autumn.

On a lighter note spring is definitely on its way and despite the current situation the fresh green shoots on the trees and the early burst of colour of spring bulbs are doing something to alleviate our moods, even if only subconsciously. We’ll start planting this year’s crops soon, once the land has dried a little, and the natural cycle of the seasons will start again. So long as people need feeding, we’ll keep farming.

Take care, if there’s anything you would like to discuss in particular please contact me on 01580 766 866 or email me directly at sam.hedges@morghew.com.

Sam.
